Rosamond Elementary

"I Can Read With my Eyes Shut"  by Dr.Seuss (March Report)
In honor of Dr.Seuss' 105th Birthday, we decorated our reading corner with Dr. Seuss pictures and purchased a "Cat in the Hat"  ($5.00 @ Kohl's) for display. We had other stuffed characters to add to the fun. We read from a page of trivia questions about Dr. Seuss' life and his adventures in publishing his books. We emphasized to  Never Give Up (even after 27 rejections) .
We then talked about his books and played a game stating some of his book titles with missing words. The kids loved participating. To finish up, we read  "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut". It is a wonderful example of his style. What a "seussical" way to honor a super author.
