In February, we celebrated Lincoln's birthday by using print 9-B from the Picturing America series. We followed the teaching activities guidelines provided for a great discussion on Gardner's photo of Lincoln and the role photography played in Lincoln's political races.
We also used the Freedman book to show how Lincoln had aged during his presidency due to the stresses of the Civil War.
