Silly Goose
by Marni McGee
This story is a fun read-a-loud for pre-school, K, and 1.
A fox tricks little Silly Goose into thinking she has lost her ears since she can't see them. I used it as a pair and share with bird books and found pictures of what a birds ears or coverts look like. We talked about how we can't see them but they can still hear. It is hard to find much info on birds ears but an Ostrich seems to be a good bird to see the little holes on the side of their heads. We also talked about different ears like the cow, rabbit and foxes ears in the story and of course their own ears.
