Roxaboxen

For Earth Day I chose to read Roxaboxen. We talked about how much fun it is to play in nature and to use your imagination. As I read the story the students were very good listeners and I sensed that they were getting ideas of games to play outdoors with their friends.
I reminded the students that when we use the school or public library they are helping the Earth. By using the same book over and over we are saving trees. Most of the students seemed very surprised and excited that they had actually helped the Earth in a way they hadn't thought of before.
