"THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA"
We read "The Princess and the Pea" adapted by Janet Stevens. Traditonal story with characters portrayed by animals instead of people. Several situations poked fun at princess qualities ie. Graceful as a Swan was portrayed as an elephant.
The following week we showed them the differences in several of the books with the same storyline. Then we read the fractured fairytale "The Princess and the Pizza". Kids loved it. They were also able to notice other princesses and storylines depicted in the story such as a "Lady and the Tramp" spaghetti scene. Great fun to use a royal voice to the queen. Enjoy!!!
